EMC VisualSRM software enables centralised storage resource management (SRM) for multi-vendor, mid-tier storage environments. Oriel utilises this software to perform a Data Profile Analysis on a subset of your storage infrastructure. This will provide a quantitative assessment of your current environment and may allow you to identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and optimise the allocation of your storage resources.

The following information is captured from the nominated storage host servers over a 24 hour period:

16 June 2008 – Oriel releases ORIZON, our new and improved remote management platform.

It has been re-designed and re-branded, incorporating the valuable feedback and requests from our customers. ORIZON provides users with an improved user experience, additional features and the enhancement of information and analysis tools for Unified Comms, SAN Storage, VMware and Citrix environments.

With even more improvements on the way, ORIZON will continue to offer a comprehensive and feature-rich solution as part of the Oriel Managed Services offering.

25 May 2008 – Oriel elevated to HP Premier Business Partner, the highest accolade a HP Channel Partner can receive.

20 February 2008 – Wyse Technology, awards Oriel as the 2007 “Up and Coming Reseller”

Wyse Technology, the global leader in thin computing, recognised Oriel as the 2007 “Up and Coming Reseller” in January for innovations in the industry’s hottest area: VDI.

As Ward Nash of WYSE states, ‘the annual award acknowledges Oriel’s winning approach to VDI, which included extending their existing VMware Lab to incorporate VDI Solutions in addition to deploying a VDI solution internally.’

“Oriel is unique in one big way: they focus on VDI,” he says. “Not only can they clearly explain the difference between server consolidation and the virtual desktop… but they can also invite you in to see VDI ‘alive’ in the lab and can substantiate what they’re talking about from their own experience.”

Oriel’s Practice Manager, Rodney Haywood says the award affirmed the hard work we’ve done with our vendors to really implement best practices into our customer base. “We work with Wyse on VDI because they are best practice in thin computing... 13 December 2007 – Oriel receives Avnet’s Solutions Partner of the Year Award

26 November 2007 – Oriel launches VDI Solutions Lab

In consultation with VMware, Wyse, HP, ThinPrint and AppSense Oriel has built a VDI solutions lab at its Sydney offices. “VDI is a solution, not a product” said Rodney Haywood, VMware Practice Manager at Oriel.

“Organisations interested in VDI need to investigate and view many different technologies from multiple vendors as they consider the implementation of VDI. The solution centre integrates all of the relevant technologies in the one place, according to each vendors best practice. Many integration issues were worked on jointly by the Oriel and Vendor system engineers to deliver a complete and unified reference implementation.”

Our emissions campaign “Ain’t that the Truth” continues to gain momentum and international press. Amongst the latest, Windows IT Pro – a leading US site, humorously states our campaign “… serves as the inspiration for a hilarious flash animation that spells out the real benefits of using server virtualization, which you can view in its gaseous entirety on the Ain't That the Truth Web site.”

Whilst the US Information Week Blog notes, “Frankly, if Oriel's creativity is representative of international channel partners, I can understand VMware's recent push to expand and support the channel.”
